Below is a hands on guide on how to set up Godown wiring -
List of material needed -
1) 230 V, 5A SPDT switch – 1; 230 V, 5A SPST switch – 1
2) Switch boxes - 2
3) 230V, 60W Lamp – 3
4) Round block – 3
5) Holder – 3
6) Junction boxes – 2
7) T – Bend – 3
8 ) 50 cm PVC pipes – 6
9) 30cm PVC pipes – 2
10) Clamps – 17
11) 1/4 inch screws – 34
12) 1/2 inch screws – 3
13)1/2 inch nails – 3
14) Wire – 5m
How to set it up
According to the schematic, the layout is drawn. According to the layout, we need 30cm PVC pipes, round blocks, junction boxes, T-bend and switch boxes to be interconnected as shown. After that, fix holders on the round blocks.
Now, as a next step, wiring is done. Assume the poles of the SPDT switch as 'a' and 'b' and the same of SPST switch as 1, C and 2. Now, connect a wire to the pole 'a' of the SPST switch and take it out as the PHASE WIRE. Now, connect pole 'b' of S1 and pole c of S2 by means of wires. Now, connect the pole 1 of S2 to the one pole of holder of Lamp L1, the other pole being connected to the wire which is taken out as the neutral wire. The same neutral wire is connected to corresponding poles of the other two holders. Now, connect pole 2 of S2 and pole c of S2. Connect pole 1 of S3 to one of the poles of (other than neutral pole) L2 and pole 2 to the corresponding pole of L3. Now check for any shorting using a multimeter. Switches are fixed and bulbs are put and finally supply is given.. there you go!! Godown wiring is ready!!
